I am a musician heart body and mind. Truthfully, there is nothing I enjoy more than creating music, from the bottom to the top of a song. Feeling it and making it real. I began writing at the age of 2, poems, at the age of 29 I began jamming with a friend of mine Billy Savedra, simple tunes. I'd create a rhythm and he'd polish it up, note for note. Afterwards I'd place a poem in the mix and -voila!- a song was born.
A few years went by I was away at day camp (except I'd stay the nights too). I'd write every day with a thought in mind that when I returned home I'd create a band called Solemn Black. I had the rhythms, the lyrics, the want to fly with it, I just needed real musicians.
I heard Luis Graham was in Socorro, a bassist with great skill, I knew Billy loved to play.
So I started making phone calls.
Everyone wanted a drummer. I went out for a beer and was introduced to Gabe Cortez. Soon after Gabe and I got together and started putting my tunes together, after a short while I called in Luis and Billy and our band was born. I have never before felt so alive creating and expressing myself through music and hope to someday soon be doing it again. I feel dead without it in my life so I usually sit around writing and creating hoping someday I'll assemble a group again.
Next time I'll have quite a bit in store. I have about 50 or so new tunes, a little more complicated than the last album, with a lot more heart behind them and a lot more powerful.
Anyone interested on working with me on them can email me at polecatnmbr1@yahoo.com Music is everything in the world to me.
